Any idea how to import a prefab into an existing map, when the prefab is in map format

Try opening it in GtkRadiant, copy, open new map, paste *G*

Just go to File-> Load Map....it will merge it with your current map thats open.

open the map with the prefab, place a brush over the prefab so that it coveres the complete thing and then press select, select inside. don't select terrain or whatever you don't need so unselect it maby and then press Ctrl+C, open you map and press Ctrl+v or save and load it as prefab...
