View Full Version : Doing an FDA like mp_depot (flag-spawn)

I was just wondering what is the best way to go about doing something like this in a map. And what not to do...
In my current map, i've got a flag up, but it doesn't affect spawn locations...even if I set Axis Side or Allies Side. In fact, regardless of who has the flag, everyone is spawning at the FDA.

You need to place spawn points for both sides around the flag and have them target the flag. Have a look at the bunker in beach and the script for objective info.
If you place team_wolf_objective markers in your map you will also be able to select at which point you spawn.

Have the spawnpoints target the flag eh? Funny, in mp_beach the flag targets the spawnpoints.
I made a copy of the script perfectly.
If you read my post, it says "...even if I set Allies Side or Axis Side". Now we both know the only way to be able to set that in game is to have team_WOLF_objective entities in the map. In my map, the Allies Side entity is above the allies main spawn, and the Axis Side entity is above the axis main spawn.
The only thing the FDA spawnpoint entities do not have in their properties is the "id" flag that was in Beach. I found it unnecessary to copy this, since there was no reference to that flag anywhere else in the map.
...and I've dissected the tutorial maps, even mp_base thats in the pk3 included with the game.
I'm sorry, but will someone who has ACTUALLY DONE THIS talk to me on the subject. I want specific do's and don'ts about this.
