Good Day All,
After a lot of work I have finished my first map.
If any one down loaded the pre-view Theodor map, could you please remove it from your main folder before installing this version.
You will also have to have the 1.33 patch on your system.
Point the zip at RTCW/main and unzip.
File size 3.3Mb
Theodor.zip
Over view.
The Axis forces have moved a Rail gun within range of the strategic important channel ports.
To prevent Allied air attack this gun is being kept in underground bunker.
The Allies must destroy this weapon before it can be used.
There has been a lot of changes to this map, the lighting outside has been reworked, so not so dark now, my models have been changed to improve looks, a few custom textures make the world of difference there. There is now a second way into the bunker and a few more passages to get lost in. I could go on, but I wont.
Please post with any comment or suggestions you may have.

whoops didnt log in thats me above
just played, first thoughts were it looks good, also thought its very dark in places, some parts you cant see anything, and im using the default light settings like most people, so maybe you should set an ambient setting or make it higher. Overall it seems ok but maybe the layout is rather complicated and the only other problem is a lot of it is undetailed, like bare rooms just with lights and things, it needs more detail, and maybe some different textures because the insides look to alike some official maps with the same grey textures used throughout, and the canal is too narrow, is it a canal? if it is its too narrow theres no way 2 boats be going up and down there
Overall though its good, to take it to the next level, you need to add more detail, use an ambient setting so its not pitch black in places (like the train area, that looks nice but you cant see cos its too dark) and change textures and im not sure about the layout but it seemed pretty complex and confusing to me but mayeb thats cos it was dark, hard to tell really. So good work there anyway you should post on news, go to submit news if u want, ill edit it to make the urls correct if you do cos it needs html code.
Also our url is still www.planetwolfenstein.com/surface you know (saw in readme u put other one)
anywho really good stuff well done

Im sorry to say that the file names are the same, you should have removed the old one first. I was going to add the MP_ to the name of the final edit.
Unfortunatly Eye's found an an error that I cant have in the map, my canals are wrong. I should have seen this before, spent a lot of time over the last 15 years on canal boats, how I missed this I dont know. Its got to be changed, so its back to work.
Please remove the old and redown load and it should work, but after careful thought I dont think Ill release this version.
I am intrested in what people think of the map layout, is it to confusing?
It has been designed to be like this, but have I gone to far?
As always all input is appreciated.

hmm bit late now to not release, its on this news and planetwolfenstein got hold of it and posted some news just release another version.
Im not 100% about the layout, it just seemed confusing in the short time i had a go, i think it was the narrow passages, maybe too many of them.you could leave the canal and just removethe doors and have it as a river if it becomes too buggery. its hard to get a good layout really, but i think most objective maps have a couple of main routes and a few leading ones, its just easier when its simple and people do prefer simple layouts, its just a few mappers think simple means crap, when infact it doesnt at all, its just good to have clarity. anywho maybe its not, maybe its just me
