evein folks. i've got two questions, so i figured i'd just lump them together.
firstly, i've been toying with the cilp textures because i've used the metal shelf model, but it won't "hold' anything i set on it. in the manual for radiant it mentions that a clip brush won't support entities on top of it, but there are more types of clip in this version of radiant than i see mentioned in the manual. perhaps clip full will do it? i know clip and clip metal won't. i'm also pretty sure clip weapon won't do it. so what's the secret to making the metal shelf support items (ammo, other brushes, etc). do i just put an exceptionally thin nodraw on top of where the shelf's top would be?
secondly, waterfalls. i'm not sure if's possible, but i figure that with a custom shader it's probably possible to create a decent waterfall (which can't be swam up, no salmon soldiers). i was mostly curious on this as it'd be pretty cool to add to an outdoor level.
thanks for all the help you guys have given.

A no draw wont do it either. I dont think any of the clips would work. You might be able to make a custom shader but an easyer way is probably to use a small thin normal brush that is compleatly covered up by the shelf model. Do this right under your entity and use a clip for the rest of it.
As for the waterfall I remember a thread in the ogigional forum but its gone now : (
It can be done, Im sure others can help

Midnight_Oil's method is a good one, but don't use a normal brush, use a caulk brush instead. Make sure it is completely engulfed by the metalshelf.
A normal brush will add to the triangles the engine needs to draw.
