--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone,

This bug has stayed around for a whole week now and refuses to be fixed by everything I try. Here's the explanation:

1. This is a dual-dynomite objective map.
2. The map loads all the way into the limbo menu.
3. Immediately after loading into Limbo, the game bombs back to the Main Menu.
4. A dialog box appears stating "DEFAULT_MODEL / skin (multi/) failed to register"
5. I opened up the Console for more information, scrolled up a few pages, and found the following 3 lines:

--failed to load head skin file: /head_.skin
--failed to load head skin file: /head_default.skin
--failed to load skin file: multi/

Okay, so if i'm reading this correctly, then the game cannot load its own character models...which is absolutely ridiculous. This has nothing to do with my map. If you have any ideas or KNOW how to solve this problem, please post a response. I would VERY MUCH appreciate help on this. A lot of work has been put into making this map.

Peace,

Kyran

most probley not a model error but common error message for a incorrect entity value. fix the incorrect entity (value 0??) with word pad or comb through the map.

You could do a second RTCW install in another folder so you're absolutely sure you've got a clean, functioning RTCW game. Try the map with that install. If the same thing happens, you got a problem with your map, as omnix32 says.

Another thing to try: take out all models (do a backup first) and compile and see if the error goes away.

Everything is fine, i just did a huge map clean up (Detailed a ton of brushes and removed unnecessary breakables).

I still dont know exactly what caused the bug, but its all working great now. Thx
