"Despite a strong effort from talented developers, the single-player portion of the game did not progress as anticipated. Canceling the release was a difficult decision made in the best interest of the Wolfenstein franchise and fans. However, we remain excited about the progress and direction of Enemy Territory's multiplayer."
These are what the id software says
enemy territory will be only an expansion at the normal rtcw but only the online version. It will also be a free download

I would like to no that as well. I was looking forward to the single player version. If anyone finds anything out plz let us no.
I don't think splash was working on the SP part anyway. The SP part was not suppose to be that large. I hope they do still give the bot support for MP.

Well, it better come out before I finish my map, or there'll be no bots in that one. As for the bots, do you think that you could specifically tell them what to do, like in SP? Because them I could have them doing things in the map, so it doesn't look like the trains and what not are moving without anyone running them.
I hope there is still bot support, but don't hold your breath. Greymatter was working on that part of the game. I assume its just going to be just the new classes/weapons/ and objectives.

it was mainly mad doc doing the sp, thing is rtcw sp wasnt too good really so that wouldnt of been much better, i think it was canned due to its just rtcw with add ons and wouldnt justify the price. I cannot remember a single fps game released 1 year later or 2 years with the same engine and fundmentally the same. Its more suited to what it was originally, an add on, however i heard its going to be free, i dont see the point in that, just charge for an add on like every other games company does.

btw: what are your favorite singleplayer games (shooters...)
for my part it's clive barker's undying and at second place alien vs predator 2
a bit of topic - i know - but just was curious about that as i thought about what makes a good sp-game...

Harvest Moon 64!!! Heh.. Bounty Hunter is okay, but I can't beat it. If you're just talking about computer games, there are no good SP games for computers that I know of. Wait, GLTron is always fun. Tron, but in full 3D with up to four people (Either computers, humans, or both, so technically it's not really SP, but not necessarily MP.)
deus ex did it for me.
loved that game.
The mp lagged like a bitch but thats where I first started mapping.

well if talking about the first map - mine i guess was for a game called test drive or something like that where you could build loops, curves and other basic road-parts ;o) i played it about 10 years ago about the time when gunship2000 was the "top hit" <g> - or the textadventure i did when i was 13 or something... (no real map though)

You guys remember System Shock 2? That has to be my fav SP of all time.
First map? Heretic, never finished my Hexan map, couldn't get the monster to power the treadmill *LOL* Sidekick AI! Of course there won't be a ET SP, how often have developers promised sidekick AI AND delivered? Can't see bot support either! RTCW is already more like a mod, its been tweaked so much there ain't much room for any more??? *G*

any descent fans in here? i loved that game and i did a map for it (quite long ago of course) which sucked a lot and the editor sucked even more, i always thought that it was the most complex way of doing a map that's possible! when somebody would have shown me how complex my mapping would be now in comparison to then i would have called him a liar! <g> when i first time saw qeradiant i wasn't sure if this really was a map editor but a development tool of the manufacturers that was never thought to be used by private people... couldn't find my way through beach then, everything looked odd and ugly, all these boxes and colours and lines! for gods sake i found surface short afterwards and tried again step by step :o)
I remember trying to map for wolf right when it came out.
I didnt know nothing of quake mapping, spent 2 months getting it all together, then one day, it wouldnt load, nothing I could do.
I cried, swore, went out and got into a fight, came home, and tried again.
Yes, thank gawd for surface, but that would be calling Eye , god.
:D
So thank God for peeps who give themselves unselfishly.
( too bad my sexy neighbour isnt blessed with that character trait!! oh well )
As far as ET goes, if its free, I cant think of a single thing to complain about.

lol tonka, sexah neighbours eh, sheesh. i dont even know my neighbours now lol. I was just gonna say i only started on halflife i never had a pc before that (my first pc, cel 366, 32mb, ati built in gcard! woot!), i got a pc and bought my first game hl, i went to get quake 2 but i didnt think it would work or summit so got hl and then many moons later tried to map for it as my mate kev said it was good, so i learnt off him, he doesnt map anymore actually :/ Anyway u cant beat that feeling of standing in your first room and thinking i made this! woot!!! then comes the trying to make a full map, a sort of "why dont they ever do this..." (for me anyway) massive open spaces i tried (on the hl engine), lol, after many maps i saw why they didnt do things like millions of trees, 1000s of steps and stuff. The first released map i made was of a ship, i remember i had massive rspeeds and was really distraught and this good chap from some forums said send him the map, he fixed it all up for me with no fuss :) and off i went on my mapping adventure!!
The thing i found hard when i started was keeping to scale, i remember making an entire map and not checking to see the scale in relation to the player, me and kev went to check map out and i saw him in game and thought omg! the map is so large!! a small hole in the road was more like a grand canyon i swore after that to keep more to scale :)
i tried to map with radiant for quake 3 and i just couldnt use it i couldnt get use to the way to move around (cos i thought worldcraft was the bees knees, although i started eventually making a q3 map) its funny because i thought nothing would top worldcraft and after using gtkradiant its sad to see how bad wc really was, infact ill just say radiant is great, wc is good too rather than how bad one is :)
*ps: i used to love descent on the ps! :)
