Another day another q3map!:) just noticed .37 is out im still on .33 not wanting to change :p but im changing now to .37, slight thing thats put me off was the light change, not having to do vis and bsp every time, but i realise now you still can, or at least i think you can, because i dont fancy messing on with my compile bat file :)

2.3.37 (2003-01-24)

- Building from GtkRadiant CVS trunk
- Added new brush bevel code by MrElusive to fix lingering aas problems (sweet!)
- Added -snap N arg to BSP phase for axial bevel plane snapping to reduce
clipped model plane count (note: will muck with above, use with care)
- Patches in terrain entities should now have proper vertex alpha set
- Fixed bug in fur code where fur was being limited to 2 layers (thanks pazur)
- Reduced vertexlight search area to a reasonable size to keep vertex lighting
times down

for grass i'm thinking of some other way to do it - i am really planning some map with wide fields with grass and bushes and so on. the grass would be only a shader of the terrain i would create... i took this idea from some soldier of fortune 2 - maps. if needed i can post some shader they did for it

Ive got a slight problem in that i have bushes in my current map but there just patches, ive curved them but they still look flat, nothing else i can do i guess, prolly look odd with fur i guess

A word of warning on the fur shader:

Its verry tough on r_speeds. Its not practicle to make a whole field of fur grass.

I always wanted to see grass done with bump mapping.

I think it would go over better if grass had a bump map instead of fur.
Might not look as good but still look alright without fps kill.

Just wondering.
