yep can't see it in your post

can't help you with the flame, do you mean the brightest or the biggest? the brightest can be found quite easily, have a look at the sfx-shader and find the one with the highest light-setting....

You won't be so fast when your 56king it! *LOL* SURFACE takes almost 5 seconds every click, blame it on the doubleclick ad dhtml?

I built my original site at Angelfire, if you can FTP, why not ask Fragland to host you? I love it there!

u mean me? wolfproject is already a domain, so i payed for at least half a year now - so i won't move very soon ;o) oh and i will be paying about 55 $ for dsl from next month on so 56k will defenitely not be coming back for me -these times are gone! <g>

edit: and btw surface is quite fast for me at the moment with 10 mbit

5 seconds to load forum, 5 seconds to load "Post a reply" (its the Emoticons?) 5 seconds to load the message posted taking you back meaasge, 5 seconds to load forum reply, ad infinitum *LOL*

Yeppers 56K sucks, almost got DSL just to load GTKRadiant 1.2.9. Could be worse, I could have to re-login every click?

You for the first part, Konigstiger for the second part about hosting at Fragland?

what do u mean by cable? tv or power line? dsl shouldn't be changing speed too much with number of people using it, thought it's the thing with cable that many people use one line, at least tv and power line cable works like this.

ok never mind, this is going way off topic
were talking about T.V. cable!

well i still cant compile my map
reson:
compile map in Radiant - MAX_MAP_VISABLE
WolfCompile - an error iv never saw befor
Quake3 (latest version) - wont start for some reason

so i cant test any flames at the moment

perhaps if i chould get Quake3 compleing thingy working ... i could test

sorry if its hard to understand what im saying but its 2:00 am

well im on 56k and it is ust like any other forum, perhaps you need some drivers or a decent modem, and adverts are tiny in size and code,it doesnt take my superexpress 56i pro very long, you cant really say 5 seconds to load up all the replies because there are always different amounts and it has pictures to load up. Using the default modem that your pc came with often results in slightly slower stuff as there bog standard ones, and there is a difference in modems, superexpress and 3com ones are the best, anyway maybe its just slow for you who knows, butwhy would you get dsl to open gtkradiant thats got nothing to do with the internet or your connection.

If you use a fire texture then you can have it as big as you want to have the fire by enlarging it. That picture is an explosion not a burning fire!

This isnt a quake 3 forum btw so no one knows much about it, but do we really have to explain what MAX_MAP_VISABLE means.

That's the spirit! You have the answer but don't want to share?

Humour us all and explain what it means. Please.

Just a guess
The vis is to complex, too many oddly shaped structural brushes. Dont make me push caulk hull again.........

max visibilty, what could that possibly mean, i wonder, hmm visibilty what does that mean, hmm was visible perhaps? hmm max, i think that means maximum, so hmm its so tough, perhaps it means something like theres too much visible on the map, i wonder

Yeah, right, that really clears things up .

If the compiler outputs 'MAX_MAP_VISIBILITY', it means that the visdatasize has been exceeded. For Q3, the maximum visdatasize is 2,048,000. Since it's roughly the same game engine, I'd guess that the same limit goes for RTCW.

Increasing the blocksize and gridsize may resolve the problem.

Questions?

Konig...something I did that helped me out when I was getting that message last week. In Radient, Start New Map, then load your map with problems into it. Recompile it, it should work now. It did for me. You never know when your map can get corrupted.

no problem your not a pain in the $"§$&$ ;o) and: i can compile your map for u if it's really necessary but first try to set up your q3map, i have to admit that i only followed the instructions omnix gave and can't remember exactly but i think all u have to do is to enter these shaders to your shaderlist:
cel
fur
q3map
lightgrid
shaderlab_foghull

i don't know if they come with q3map, if not tell me and i'll upload them

and: i am using the new wolfcompile which either does everything on it's own - or it's really no big deal ;o)

I have a very simple step by step gide on how I made this work which I just sent to nix, has q3map, shaders, lightgrid texture and omnixs post on how to do this. Dont have time at the moment to do a proper job of a tutorial.I can send this on if anyone wants to put it together properly, or is just after the info.
One thing I did which I think might seem a bit odd is when the readme for the q3map said not to put it in the same directory as the game, to be safe, it was put in my doc's, odd, but it does work.
If you want it, let me know.
