This IS my first post but I have been using this site for about 2 weeks now. All I can say is WOW.....you guys rule....almost every question I had could be answered here by using that SEARCH button.

Especially a big thanks to Detoeni, what a great Mod.... In fact it seems that every single thing I looked up was answered by Detoeni personally in that paticual post.

Please don't shut this place down. Before 2 weeks ago, I knew nothing about mapping but now, thanks to this place and a few others like it, I give you this....

Hmm... well for one it's RTCW not ET and now that I check I see I made this post in the wrong forum.....I'm sorry about that..

Also I know it's working good. My mates and I have been playing it all week and I set them up with the same link...I'm talking about 6 people here all having no problems.

Please let me know what you find out....I don't want a screwed up map to be my 1st.

I found the problem.

This is new but an easy fix. I had uploaded the PK3 file in pk3 format. Skyscraper.pk3

But when downloaded the webserver rezips it and you get skyscraper.pk3.zip

When unziped after this several of the JPGs get screwed up...I have no clue why this is happen...yesterday I test downloaded it and it was just Skyscraper.pk3...today its pk3.zip ?? Computers.....go figure.

Anyway it is fixed. Please redownload, the zip you download this time is one of my making and I tested this and all seems good. Sorry for the problem.

Hmm...its.....interesting.

Not exactly ww2 themed, but what the hey. I think there is more danger from falling than from the other team. Railings are a good thing. Too open I would say...

Its very diffirent, nice original idea, only let down by a few small problems. You have made the map on a gridsize of 1x1, you should use 8x8(4 on the key pad) and only go down to 1 for the odd fine detail. using 8x8 will remove the edge tear and holes that can be seen in your brushwork. You will also find you can work much quicker.

I think the stairs "that were not hacked from beach":p should go.
With this concept you'v gone for something diffrent, so why compromize, I think it would work much better with if you added more lifts but inside the building. Add a few levels up the sides of the tower and conect them with lifts or plats. do the same on the out side. This would give you more diffrent paths for the objective carrier to take, makes things a bit more intresting, also anyone on the one lift, at the moment, is panzer bait.

Thanks guys...this is the stuff I need to get better.

At the time 'Hacked Beach Stairs' seemed a good idea! :)

8X8 hmmm.....ok that's one I won't forget.

Question...and this drove me crazy.

The sides of my map are not the way I wanted them but with it being so tall, I had to go the route I took...tall cliffs.
I really wanted more sky and less cliff but then you couldn't go to the top of the tower without noticable tear.

Any suggestions on this?
Also..how can I see my R_time? I'm sure it's much too high.

Q1: a skybox shader would do that, (enviroment box to give its corect name)

is it possible to make the elevator more the 3 floors?
all i find it 3 or less floors and having trouble scripting mine

Then this isn't the map you want. My elevator in this map is simply a func_door no scripting.
